Brand New Day
Starlite, Rainbow Brite, and the Color Kids
[Starlite]
It's spring! Spring. It's in the air!
[Starlite]
Wake up, flowers
I've been up for hours
There's work to do
Birds, start flying
No more me-oh-my-ing
There's work to do
[Chorus]
Everybody's got a part to play
To start each day in a beautiful way
Every morning when the night goes away
Every morning is a brand-new day
[A butterfly flutters
down and sits on Starlite's head and rides him through town]
[Starlite]
[to the butterfly] What do you take me for, the morning bus?
[Starlite]
Even little things
Need a helping wing
There's work to do
[Indigo]
Sun, start glowing
Pack away your snow things
There's work to do
[Buddy Blue]
Up and at 'em
You can't just hang around when
There's work to do
[Chorus]
[Patty O'Green]
Good morning, Starlite!
[Starlite]
Good Morning to you all!
[Twink's alarm goes
off and he tumbles out of bed. A butterfly turns off the alarm]
[Twink]
[to the butterfly] That's my job!
[Rainbow Brite awakens
to Puppy Brite on her bed, and the Color Kids ready to greet her]
[Rainbow Brite]
Good morning.
[Color Kids]
Morning, Rainbow Brite
Feel the sunlight
There's work to do!
[Rainbow Brite]
Good morning, everyone!
[Twink slides down the pole from his loft in to Rainbow's room]
[Twink]
It's spring! It's spring, Rainbow! It's spring!
[Rainbow Brite]
I know, Twink. Thank you.
[notices the butterfly, which is a solid color waiting in her room]
Twink, the star sprinkles.
[Twink gives her a hand full of star sprinkles, a Rainbow covers the butterfly
and paints it a pretty pattern. Happy, the butterfly flutters away]
Okay, let's get to work!
[Chorus X 1]
Every morning is a brand-new day
And you've got a part to play
[Rainbow Brite]
Come on, Starlite! Everyone on Earth is waiting for Spring!
[Twink]
We've got work to do!
[Starlite lowers for them to climb on and they leave over the rainbow
into the clouds]
